BCA Staff

Executive Director: Deborah Edward

Deborah Edward joined the BCA team in February, 2012 as Executive Director. Edward has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Texas. While in Austin she established the Austin Children’s Museum and was founding director of Greenlights for NonProfit Success. She is a fellow at the University of Texas RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service, and a Fulbright Fellow. Her background includes graduate teaching and research and extensive consulting in the US and abroad with nonprofits, museums and arts organizations. Edward most recently was working with Sacramento’s Mayor Kevin Johnson to implement an ambitious regional cultural action plan. She brings experience in philanthropy, arts education,cultural planning and nonprofit management and governance to her new role in Portland. She’s excited to be here!

Associate Director: Susan Myers

Susan Myers has been with Business for Culture and the Arts since 1994. She has planned and implemented all Business for Culture and the Arts programs, including the Arts Breakfast of Champions, Art of Leadership and Behind the Scenes member receptions. Susan manages BCA’s Business Volunteers for the Arts program. She earned her B.A. in art history from the University of Colorado and worked previously at the Washington Commission for the Humanities and the International Sculpture Center in Washington D.C. Susan loves great books, small art projects, exploring Oregon with her family, and nurturing her teen-aged daughter’s passion for the arts.

Membership & Marketing Manager: Keith Daly

Keith Daly joins the BCA staff in 2013. Keith brings a strong background in arts advocacy and business, including project management and marketing with startups and consulting with various technology companies. He was the Field Director for the Creative Advocacy Network, coordinating the outreach and grassroots effort to get Portland’s Arts Education and Access Fund passed by voters in 2012. At BCA, Keith manages marketing and communications in addition to membership cultivations, renewals and sponsorships. He also plans and implements many of BCA’s programs including Behind the Scenes and Top Donors to the Arts research. Keith is an avid hiker, loves gardening, and enjoys the wonderfully creative and diverse offerings in arts and culture that makes the Portland region so unique.

Office Coordinator: Korin Lykam

Korin joined the BCA staff in July 2012. She has a BA in Language Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz and six years of experience in administration and office coordination, specializing in database and process management.  In her spare time she likes writing, reading, taking photos and watching movies.  Korin believes that art is a reflection of culture and also necessary for its development and health, and is thrilled to be a part of the BCA team.
